Discussions were held regarding the 50th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Riga and Kobe. Since 2019, a total of 18 students have received scholarships as part of the Japan-Latvia exchange program. Other activities include hosting talk salons, promoting Latvian culture and arts, sharing experiences of exchange students, and supporting visits by Latvian music groups to Japan. Future possibilities for citizen-level exchanges are also under consideration.
