On May 16, Dmitrijs Milkevics, President of the Latvian Athletics Federation, visited Japan to formally sign an agreement with Fuji City, confirming it as the official pre-training camp location for the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships.

This marks a special continuation of the strong partnership between Latvia and Fuji City, following the team’s pre-Olympic training camp held there prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

This year, Latvia will be represented by four elite athletes competing in three track and field events: race walking, javelin throw, and pole vault. The athletes are:

Anete Sietina

Women’s Javelin Throw

Valters Kreišs

Men’s Pole Vault

Raivo Saulgriezis

Men’s 35km Race Walk

Līna Mūze-Sirmā

Women’s Javelin Throw

We invite everyone to support these athletes as they prepare to showcase their talent on the world stage.
